Community Spirit

Giving back to our community and helping others is part of who we are. We take pride in supporting our state’s needs, not just through monetary donations, but also through the volunteer efforts of individual members of the firm.

The members of our firm are active in the community at the local, state, and national level. We are involved in professional associations, non-profit boards, and non-profit organizations. Our outreach is reflected by contributions of time and expertise to almost 100 organizations. For instance, one of our attorneys is a “big brother” volunteer with Big Brothers/Big Sisters; one is on the board of Presbyterian Ear Institute; and another is a ten-year volunteer with the Center for Civic Values.

In addition to being a “Cornerstone” contributor to United Way, Miller Stratvert has teams of walkers in annual fundraisers for such organizations as the Multiple Sclerosis Association and Making Strides For Breast Cancer Research.

In 2006, firm employees created a monthly employee donation program for the Storehouse; an organization that feeds the hungry.  Employees of the firm are encouraged to donate a sum equal to the monthly amount that they would spend eating-out for one meal per day.  Several employees have given much larger lump sums.  The firm then matches employee donations one-to-one.

During the holiday season each year, a disadvantaged family is supported by the firm with gifts and groceries for the holiday meal. This is done in partnership with the Peanut Butter and Jelly Family Services, Inc.
