The seminar will be held at the Albuquerque Marriott. Business Lawyer of the Year!!! Albuquerque Attorney, James J. Widland was voted New Mexico Business Lawyer of the year by the business section of the State Bar of New Mexico. Congratulations Jim! New Mexico Ethics in Business Award Miller Stratvert nominated for the New Mexico Ethics in Business Award in 2006. Samaritan Counseling Center of Albuquerque, along with University of New Mexico Anderson Schools of Management, initiated the New Mexico Ethics in Business Awards to recognize companies, non-profit organizations, and individuals who work to successfully integrate ethical business and social responsibility into their daily decision-making. An independent selection committee of community business leaders and volunteers will review the results of research performed by students from the University of New Mexico Anderson Schools of Management, under the guidance of their professor, John Ackerman, for a class entitled “Ethical, Political and Social Environment of Business,” and then choose the award recipients. The final recipients will include up to three businesses, one non-profit organization, and one individual that will be announced in early February. State Bar Professionalism Award Alice Lorenz received the State Bar Professionalism Award at the annual meeting of the State Bar in 2006. The Professionalism Award is the highest award given by the State Bar to "attorneys or judges who, over long and distinguished legal careers, have, by their ethical and personal conduct, exemplified for their fellow attorneys the epitome of professionalism."
